Drumline, Color Guard, and Majorette Clinics Begin!

On Wednesday, April 19, drumline clinics for the 2017 WWHS Flying Eagle Marching Band will begin. There are three clinics, time: 3:00-4:30 pm. The next two clinics will be on Wednesdays, May 3 and 10, with tryouts on Wednesday, May 17, from 3:00-5:00 pm. On Friday, May 5 and 12, color-guard and majorette clinics will be held. Time for majorettes is 3:00-4:30; time for color guard is 4:30-5:30. Tryouts will be on Tuesday, May 16.

Drum Major and Captain Tryouts!

On Monday, May 1 and 8, drum major clinics will be held, with tryouts on Monday, May 15. On Tuesday, May 23, captain tryouts will be held. Captain applications are due by Monday, May 15.

Region VII Regional Band Festival

Wednesday and Thursday, April 5 and 6, Region VII Regional Band Festival was held in Beckley. Concert bands from 22 schools came to Beckley to perform for the judges. The Woodrow Wilson High School Concert Band performed at 8:30 on Wednesday morning and received a "I" Superior Rating from the judges!

A Successful Trip to the Sugar Bowl!

The Flying Eagle Band marched in the Sugar Bowl New Year's Eve Parade on December 31 and in the halftime show at the Sugar Bowl game at the Superdome in New Orleans on January 2! The band enjoyed educational outings to the National World War II Museum and the historical French Quarter, as well as an airboat adventure in the Louisiana swamp.
