Southern Regional Jazz Festival!
On Saturday, February 25, the WWHS Jazz Ensemble will travel to Cabell Midland High School in Ona, WV, to participate in the Southern Regional Jazz Festival. The WWHS performance for the judges will be at 5:30 pm. Good luck to the WWHS Jazz Ensemble!
Marshall University Honor Band!
Thursday through Saturday, February 9-11, two students, junior Nic Null on bari sax and freshman Ethan Stack on tuba, from the WWHS Band participated in the Marshall University Honor Band. This is a wonderful opportunity for high-school band students to work under an amazing conductor and put on a concert with students from schools all over the the Tri-State Area.
A Successful Trip to the Sugar Bowl!
The Flying Eagle Band marched in the Sugar Bowl New Year's Eve Parade on December 31 and in the halftime show at the Sugar Bowl game at the Superdome in New Orleans on January 2! The band enjoyed educational outings to the National World War II Museum and the historical French Quarter, as well as an airboat adventure in the Louisiana swamp.
